Fisher-Bennett Hall Graduate Lounge, room 330
This workshop asks us to examine carefully a pedagogical practice widely used across disciplines: the student presentation. For what purpose do instructors ask their students to present their learning to the class? What kind of learning do we facilitate with this practice? How may we help our students prepare for their presentations? Other issues we will address include: the stress of public speaking, pros and cons of individual and group presentations, different assessment methods, and creative presentation formats. This workshop will be led by Professor Paul Saint-Amour, Walter H. and Leonore C. Annenberg Professor in the Humanities and Professor of English. Please contact Howie Tam (haot@sas.upenn.edu) if you have any questions. Coffee and donuts will be served.
